SUGARCUBE® JOURNAL is a wordpress.com blog, based on a two-column format and actively customized with CSS. We offer original content which is simple to use and easy to digest.
Our journal exists as a supplement and often seen as an introduction to our range of fashion, product and art offered through SUGARCUBE®, our brick and mortar shop. In the long-term Sugarcube Journal is a growing archive of style and influence. Our companion, Old City Travel Guide, provides helpful information for Philadelphia visitors and locals alike.

Content
We work with vendors, designers and artists to develop original content for our local, East Coast, National and International readership. Exclusive interviews, product launches and spotlights promotes diverse ecosystems. We encourage an informed audience, thoughtful consumers and excited visitors.
Visual design
Sugarcube Journal is solely an in-house design/communication project of Sugarcube Inc.
To help foster effective typographic communication we use font families Goudy Old Style and Helvetica Neue in several sizes and weights. Line spacing is open to allow for easy reading. The first character of select paragraphs are in Goudy Old Style.
We customized The Wu Wei Theme as our WordPress template. Our mobile WordPress version is standard issue with access to the full version.

WordPress.com is a hosted version of WordPress.org software, an open source publishing platform. WordPress.com is a managed product of Automattic, Inc. Their mission is to “democratize publishing one website at a time.” We choose the WordPress.com software version in support of their mission while minimizing possible complexities often associated with technological development and security issues.

Postcard design
Artist Jack Gibbons made and photographed a model of Sugarcube in H0 scale (1:87.1), 3.5 mm to 1 foot (0.1378 in) for our promotional postcard. We use FireBall Printing in Philadelphia.
